Web designing

The start of the lesson Dwayne wen through with us web design layouts. From my understanding most websites are made out of 6 significant blocks of space Header, Navigation, Main, 2 side bars and the footer. After the tas we were asked to draw up 8 designs on a piece of paper using the 6 blocks of space. We then jumped on to illustrator to make a mock up of our website idea. My  website is basically a simple idea where everything is normal on a webpage but the additional information are these moving dabs that come in from the side allows you to switch from projects and section of work to view in the main page
This is the first bid of main code to identify where the blocks are to allow me to manipulate and move them about

This is what my website is looking like atm

Pre Prodction Basic ideas

Many of my ideas evolve around making and RPG hack n slash where you choose your character and go through dungeons and hack at enemies until you get to a final boss. Another idea was to create a zombie survival game. Racing games seem like a fun idea to do also but making smooth movement is going to be hard. there are multiple other styles of game I might explore into looking at story lines game dialogue or even a multiplayer head to head like pong. I feel like all my games are going to be be heavily fantasy based as this genre is always appealing to me. During my experience with gaming i have found that multiple RPG games invest a lot of time developing boss battles giving them battle phases and sequences that when they first come out are never clear on what the best strategy is to defeat it, designing unique effects and abilities has always interest me and this will be my main focus.

First Post

Session 1

Aim 1 was to recap over our previous knowledge we gained last week, we recapped over what HTML and what CSS is. Dwayne went over what happened last week and we talked about how we made the websites using <div> and <h1>. There wasn't much individual skill involved we were asked questions as a group and answered them. It was a fairly simple to get us back up to scratch after a week.

Aim 2 went throgutht he entire process of using github, how github works and what github actually is. github allows us to document each change of our website which is called version control. we went over setting a file as a github file while deleted and re uploading our work to it. This was fairly confusing to get my head around but after it was complete I realized that it was quite simple. We went over finding our website link so everyone in the world that has internet can find our website page. We created another branch on our page called gh-pages and i am currently using that to save all my changes. Im not fully aware on why or how but its something i can easily find out in the future.

Aim 3 was to test our knowledge on HTML and CSS using a website called  CodeAcademy. This site is more of a tutorial guide but also tests you on you knowledge, I found it very helpful and easy to use when coding. It had straight forward question and descriptions that are easy to follow along. It had a small award system to make you feel accomplished which was rather nice.
